ABOUT

The concept for HABLAMOS was born in Trujillo, Honduras while practicing underserved medicine and strengthened by the need and desire of medical professionals in the United States to connect with their Spanish-speaking patients. The Spanish language has always been at the center of our mission, personally and professionally. HABLAMOS, the Premier Spanish Language School started in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2018 and served not only the medical community but also general community Spanish language needs with adult and child classes, Spanish language meet-ups, and translation/interpreting services. We are the only native Spanish-speaking physician-owned and operated Spanish language school. We were empowered to close the Spanish language and cultural gaps that plagued the communities that we served and improve patient-provider relationships that surrounded us by creating, HABLAMOS. HABLAMOS is now an online Professional Spanish Language School that caters to the community, medical health systems, and organizations, as well as other classes of service professionals, and provides comprehensive medical/conversational Spanish programs, cultural competency courses, and professional translational/consulting services, as well as organizational Path to Spanish Fluency programs. All levels of medical professionals, all types of medical subspecialties, and the custom needs of every Spanish language learner can be met by HABLAMOS.

We at HABLAMOS are committed to providing high-quality Spanish Language education for medical professionals, promoting the beauty of the Spanish language and Hispanic/Latino culture, as well as providing professional and certified Spanish Language Interpreting and Translations.

All of our teachers are professional, certified bilingual educators, and native speakers. Every educator at HABLAMOS has undergoing significant scrutiny, background checks, and quality assessment of not only their Spanish language ability but also of their teaching skills.

Every educator has been matched with the specific groups they teach from adults, 1st responders, and medical professionals.

Our staff is highly educated, diverse, talented, certified teachers, and are native Spanish speakers.

Born and raised in Honduras and completed Medical training and practiced as a physician for 9 years and as Medical Director and in one of the most poverty-stricken regions in Honduras working with closely with Shoulder to Shoulder overseeing residents, nursing staff, pharmacy, radiology, L&D, and working closely on Public health initiatives. Quality outcomes reported to large NGO and the Honduran Health minister. He transitioned to the United States and worked as an interpreter, a translator, and subsequently obtained a certification for teaching the Spanish language. Dr. Vasquez loves anything related to soccer and his 4 children. He passionately believes in the importance of the Spanish language and assures that all who wish to connect to their heritage, those who want to feel more comfortable speaking Spanish, and those who strive to connect with their Hispanic/Latino patients should have access to high-quality Spanish language training.

Multifaceted program development experience in the public and private sector with focus on quality improvement and Maternal Medicaid innovation. 16 years of OBGYN experience for the underserved in multiple healthcare arenas. Active policy advocate for Maternal Health and Women’s health. Innovative change leader in FQHC and managed care settings as Director of Maternal and Women’s Health with proven success in strategic clinical program development, implementation, community partnership development, case management, and acquisition of funding. Private sector CEO with experience in marketing, strategy, and scaling. OBGYN subject matter expert and extensive experience in clinical practice oversight, peer chart review, and state-level case reviews. Certified Physician Executive with expertise in specialized Maternal population health strategy, women’s health advocacy, and health equity for the underserved. Long-standing utilization management and managed care oversight experience. Specialized focus on Maternal immigrant healthcare access and Perinatal mental health programming.
